Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club is a gated community built by Discovery Land Company across roughly 800 acres split into two parcels — "The Creek" and "The Ranch" — on land that was once part of the Salt Lick's own ranch holdings. The centerpiece is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Tom Fazio that opened in 2022, alongside more than 70 acres of working vineyard planted on the former ranchland, equestrian trails, and estate lots running up to roughly three acres. It's a different kind of Driftwood property than the open 5-to-50-acre ranchettes most of the area is built on — paved private roads inside the gate instead of a long caliche drive, but the same gated, self-contained service either way.
One detail worth knowing if you're inside the gates: homes here are built with rainwater-harvesting roofs that feed back into the aquifer, which tells you the ownership here already thinks carefully about where their water comes from. We never touch any water collected or stored on the property — every rinse starts from our own sealed 0 PPM tank, so it has zero bearing on your own system in either direction. Between the course, the vineyard rows, and the equestrian trails, trucks and SUVs here tend to pick up more organic debris — hay dust, trail grit — than a typical driveway, which is exactly the kind of pre-rinse soak we build into every visit.
