  A fair number of the Range Rovers and Defenders we detail actually get used off-road — creek crossings near Dripping Springs and Spicewood, caliche gravel roads, cedar debris. That's a heavier, chalkier soil load than a daily commuter picks up, and it needs a proper pre-wash soak rather than a quick rinse.
• Air suspension and body cladding trap mud in creases

  The lower cladding and air-suspension components have tight creases and gaps that pack with mud and don't rinse clean on their own. We hand-detail these areas with a brush, not just a pressure rinse.
• Satin and matte paint finishes can't be waxed or polished like gloss paint

  Several Range Rover trims offer a factory satin or matte finish, which traditional wax or compound ruins by making it glossy in patches. We use matte-specific ceramic products and never run a standard polish on these.
• Windsor leather and extensive stitching need careful conditioning

  Range Rover's Windsor leather and the heavy perforation and stitching on higher trims trap residue in the stitching if the wrong product is used. We work the conditioner into the grain, not just across the surface.
• The panoramic roof and rear glass need a dedicated interior pass

  Like other large-glass SUVs, interior streaking is visible from every row of seats in direct Austin sun. We detail the glass from inside and out as its own step, not folded into the general interior wipe-down.
