Old Town is Georgetown's historic residential core around the Williamson County Courthouse Historic District — a 40-block area on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977, anchored by the 1911 courthouse and a mix of Beaux-Arts and Victorian-era buildings. Landmarks include the 1870 Makemson-Steele Building (Georgetown's first hotel) and the 1885 M.B. Lockett Building, a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark since 1991; Georgetown was named a National Trust Main Street city in 1982.
Homes in this district predate Georgetown's master-planned communities by decades, which means older driveways, mature tree cover, and a genuinely different architectural character than Wolf Ranch or Rancho Sienna. Walkability to the square means more on-street parking for some residents, and we set up just as easily at the curb as in a driveway.
